Empowered Learning in the Classroom
Abstract
This paper develops a model of expressive versus instrumental teaching. Expressive teaching is proposed as a mechanism for creating an environment in which students feel empowered. This type of environment is created by envisioning, exploring, empowering, energizing and implementing. When both students and teachers are engaged in these types of activities, learning and growth occurs for everyone involved.Downloads
