Abstract

This paper is devoted to addressing strategic management as an integrative function and how it can be taught in an experiential environment. Successful strategic decisions are the result of experience, analysis, judgment, and values. Moreover, the primary features of these decisions are uncertainty, incomplete information, complexity, novelty, iterativeness, and judgment. A model incorporating these features in a classroom setting is presented. Then a technique for using the mode’ in a simulated business setting is explored along with the application of real-time cases. Finally, results from past experience in using this application are discussed.
