Abstract

The authors conducted a two-year exploratory study using STRATSIM, a corporate strategy simulation game, in an attempt to generate hypotheses and develop insights about the nature of the strategic management decision-making process. Results were obtained in three major areas: the perception and evaluation of team decision-making; the effects of time taken to make strategic decisions; and the individual allocation of team rewards. This paper provides a discussion of the results with implications noted and suggestions for further application of business simulation games in managerial training and development suggested.
