Abstract

This paper describes a simulation exercise that enables students to experience the impact of current economic and world events on the stock market. Students learn the concept of “market value”, as well as experiencing some of the excitement of a stock exchange, as a result of participating in this game. This simulation represents a leaning cycle which allows for concrete experience with the concept of market value. Students generalize from this concrete experience and then can apply this concept to other situations.
