Behavioral Consequences of Reward Regarding Employee Absenteeism in an Industrial Setting an Operant Conditioning Approach
Abstract
An attempt was made to alter the behavioral responses of twenty-one hourly industrial employees regarding their work attendance. This quasi-experiment provided a lottery incentive plan over a ten week period. Re- suits were analyzed in terms of absenteeism, production, and improvement in quality of life at work. In each area of evaluation, a positive result ensued. Reactions to behavioral implementation within the industrial setting are discussed.Downloads
