External Validation: An Experimental Approach to Determining the Worth of Simulation Games
Abstract
Most research designed to measure the worth of simulation games as pedagogical devices has examined the internal validity of games--their value in teaching specific material to players. This paper reports a pilot study designed to measure the external validity of games--the transferability of game learning to real-world applications. Results failed to support a significant relationship between game performance success and three measures of subsequent career success.Downloads
